El congrés We are the folk – rethinking folklore in the twenty-first century, que se celebrarà del 22 al 24 d’octubre a Lisboa, comptarà amb la participació de Carme Oriol del Grup d’Estudis Etnopoètics.
On 22nd, 23rd and 24th October, the congress “O povo somos nós: Repensar o folclore no século XXI” gathers, in Lisbon, 50 researchers from different specializations and nationalities to define the State of the Art of folklore studies and, also, to pay homage to the anthropologist and folklorist Alan Dundes, who would turn 80 in 2014.
The conference and debate program attempts to explore contemporary manifestations and multiplicity of meanings of a cultural phenomenon erroneously associated with a reductive and static approach to folklore. The keynote speakers are Alison Dundes Renteln, Christian Bromberger, Jorge Freitas Branco, Mário Correia, Pertti Anttonen and Tok Thompson.
